Good Morning: The Strange Conversation That Began at 3 AM

During a journey through Maharashtra, a saint once stayed in a small village near Solapur. After retiring for the night, he awoke at around three in the morning and sat down for meditation.

The village was wrapped in deep silence. As he closed his eyes and turned inward, he suddenly sensed the presence of something unusual nearby. He opened his eyes and looked around.

There, a few feet away, stood a strange human-like figure.

It was not a solid body. Rather, it appeared to be formed from delicate, silvery lines. The figure remained perfectly still, suspended nearly three feet above the ground.

The saint had read and heard much about ghosts and spirits in scriptures and ancient stories, but this was the first time in his life that he had encountered what appeared to be a spirit before his own eyes. Instead of fear, curiosity arose within him. He wanted to understand what this mysterious being was and whether it could communicate.

Before he could say anything, the figure smiled and spoke.

“Friend, good morning!”

The saint calmly replied, “Good morning.”

To his surprise, the spirit began speaking fluent English. What followed was an extraordinary conversation that continued for nearly an hour and a half.

The saint asked, “May I know why you have appeared before me?”

The spirit replied, “I wished to experience the company of a saintly and noble person like you.”

The saint looked at the mysterious figure with curiosity.

“Would you tell me what you were in your previous life?”

“I was a highly educated person,” the spirit answered. “I also owned a large hotel. According to the course of nature, my physical body came to an end eight years ago. Since the destruction of my physical body, I have been wandering as a spirit.”

The saint then asked, “Can you appear before anyone whenever you wish?”

“Yes,” the spirit replied, “but not before everyone. Among us, those spirits who still feel love or attachment toward human beings prefer the company of people who possess good values, noble เคธंเคธ्เค•ाเคฐ and a gentle nature. We generally stay away from people who fear us or have little interest in the higher values of life.

“However, those who were deceitful, cunning or cruel during their human lives sometimes become troublesome spirits after death. They take pleasure in disturbing people who possess similar negative tendencies.

“Some lower forms of spirits simply enjoy creating disorder. They frighten human beings and animals and derive amusement from their suffering.

“So you may understand one thing: just as human beings differ in their nature and temperament in the physical world, the invisible world is also filled with beings of different dispositions.”

The saint listened attentively.

“Can every spirit communicate through speech?” he asked.

“No,” the spirit answered. “Those who leave the physical world without understanding the reality of death, particularly those who pass through intense mental suffering at the time of death, may lose the ability to express their experiences through speech. Their mental and subtle faculties may become disturbed.

“There are many such spirits in our world. Some eventually come to terms with their new existence and gradually adapt to it. When they later wish to communicate with human beings, they often use the process of thought exchange rather than spoken language.

“More evolved spirits, however, possess highly developed mental faculties. Some can speak in a voice resembling that of a human being. They can also perceive the form and colour of thoughts and understand their meaning.”

The saint paused for a moment before asking another question.

“Do you ever meet your relatives from your previous life?”

The spirit became silent for a moment.

“I do not feel any desire to meet most of them,” it replied. “I do not enjoy the company of people who perform degrading acts merely for money.

“However, I remain in mental contact with a son from my third previous birth. He currently lives in Paris, France. He too has grown old now, and he has developed a deep interest in spiritual philosophy.”

The saint was fascinated.

“And who is your closest friend among the spirits?” he asked. “What did he do in his previous life?”

The spirit replied, “He is a highly evolved spirit. In his previous life, he was a renowned foreign doctor. He had a good understanding of Hindu thought and Indian spiritual traditions.

“Only yesterday, we were discussing the question of health in India. He strongly believes that a generation lacking เคธंเคธ्เค•ाเคฐ and guided by regressive thinking cannot contribute meaningfully to the progress of a nation.

“If the younger generation remains unhealthy because of an unhealthy lifestyle, the consequences will ultimately affect the entire country.”

The saint remained thoughtful for a while. Then, as the mysterious meeting approached its end, he asked one final question.

“Will we ever meet again?”

The spirit smiled gently.

“We should forget about that possibility and allow our next meeting to remain a pleasant accident of existence. I must leave now. You have given me your company for such a long time, and I am grateful to you.

“Until we meet again, may God protect you.”

The words had barely faded when the strange figure began to disappear.

The silvery outline slowly became faint, almost like mist dissolving in the darkness. Within moments, the mysterious form had vanished completely.

The room once again became silent.

The saint remained seated in meditation, contemplating the strange encounter.

Whether it had been a spirit from another realm, an unexplained phenomenon, or something beyond ordinary human understanding, the experience left him with one profound thought:

Perhaps the visible world is only a small part of existence, while the greater mystery continues beyond what the human eye can see.
